 A channel user may have one or more channel modes (for example, voice(+),
 half-operator(%) or operator(@)). As far as I have seen, if a user has
 both voice and operator modes, Pidgin 2.5.2 will correctly note the
 operator status and add a + to the user's name.

 For example, if the user MaGaO has both voice and operator modes on
 #testchannel, /quote names #testchannel will provide his name as @+MaGaO.
 Pidgin 2.5.2 doesn't seem to expect more than one mode modifier, so it
 happily slurps the @ modifier in order to show the correct icon, and shows
 the user's name as +MaGaO on the users' list.
