 It does. Also, I notice that I was slightly inaccurate with my previous
 description, it appears that the new conversation window ''is'' minimised
 to the taskbar after all.

 Anyway I did some further testing: games based on the Source engine such
 as Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2 get minimised when new conversation
 windows are created, as do Trackmania Nations Forever, X3: Reunion, and
 Unreal Tournament 2004. I tried Deus Ex though, which did not get
 minimised, and the same was true of the xNormal 3D model viewer
 (xnormal.net). Can't see any kind of connection.
