 Pidgin keeps crashing. Running it from a terminal and using the -d switch
 to pipe debug info to stdout gave me this reason for crashing:
 evolution: Error 0 in getting card list

 I can clearly see that that means it's a problem with evolution, but as it
 only surfaces when using pidgin, I'm logging it here.

 Having disabled all my accounts (calendar and email) I am able to use
 pidgin, but there is an absolutely shocking lag when typing/using
 compiz,which after about three minutes sorts itself out.
 I think that pidgin is waiting for something to happen and when it doesn't
 it just sits there and waits, meanwhile appearing frozen.
 If I can be of any more help getting to the bottom of this, give me a
 shout.
 I'm running pidgin 2.4.1 on Ubuntu 8.04, latest packages, and evolution
 2.22.3.1, if that helps.
