 No, I have no information on limits for that file. I will say I don't
 believe I have ever heard of it getting anywhere near that large.

 How many buddies are in that buddy list? Is the list usable?

 If you don't mind, and I fully understand if you do, could you compress
 and attach the blist.xml file here (assuming it compresses down to
 somewhere around the 2MB mark). If you are not comfortable uploading the
 buddy list somewhere public, you can email it to me at deryni at pidgin.im or
 simply open it up in an editor yourself and see whether it contains large
 amounts of data that are not just buddy list entries (for example, if
 Pidgin For Lib was using it for storage of data).
