 Correct, purple_account_request_authorization allows for specifying a
 message to send and purple_account_add_buddy does not. What about that is
 a problem exactly? purple_account_request_authorization is used to request
 that the buddy allow you to add them to your list or see their presence
 information, etc. purpl_request_add_buddy simply adds them to the buddy
 list (something which requires no direct interaction from the buddy and as
 far as I know does not get relayed to them directly). What are you trying
 to do and having trouble with?
