 same happen to me. I have to delog and relogin again. i am also wondering
 why is this timeout set to 5 min. it's a bit long for IM ! i think a 1min
 timer would be more than enough.

 it is annoying to the point i am even considering to switch back to live
 messenger.

 i would be really glad to help to solve the problem. to reproduce :
 connect to msn, wait a few minutes. talk to someone. 50% of the time you
 get no anwser and within 5min topchrono you get the error.

 here is the log i annomized the email and kept only the MSN logs related
 logs (i am using a ssh/putty based socks proxy, but had never any problem
 with it):
