Comment:

 As I mentioned, my choice would be to remove the closed notifications
 entirely. However they were added for some reason, and I know people ask
 for them on MSN (which is where this stupidity originated as far as I'm
 aware).

 If this sits around for much longer I'll see if I can't convince people
 that we need to yank it (and possibly make it a plugin).
