Hello, first i would like to thank everyone of the Pidgin team because
this is probably the best messenger! I use it on Windows.
But there is a few features that i liked in Windows Live Messenger (WLM)
and that i would like to see in Pidgin! Maybe it can be done by plugins
but i have no idea!
- bbcode in contact/own names: In WLM you can do [ b ][ c=12 ]Name[ /c ][
/b ] (without spaces of course) and it will display Name in bold and blue.
Many of my contacts, including me, use this, and it's sad to see all those
unformatted names in Pidgin :(. So i would like to see this implemented,
and maybe also implemented for in the chat window as well!
- Personal Message: Still in WLM, you can set a personal message, which
display at the right of the name, in contacts's contacts list. I was
shocked of not finding this feature in Pidgin! Also, here too, bbcode and
url support are more than welcome!
- Display song playing : Again in WLM, there is an option "Display song
playing in WMP", which replace the personal message with the song title
that is played by WMP. And maybe you know in Winamp, there is a plugin
called Toaster, which allow to format our own title based on Winamp
informations about the song played. When the WLM option is checked,
Toaster replace our personal message by the formatted media title. I
really would like this to be implemented in Pidgin too!
Please consider adding these features! Thanks in advance!
