 Hidden preferences are a very bad idea, and thus require significant
 justification.  Nothing here justifies a hidden preference, and I agree
 with deryni that a preference is a waste and completely unnecessary.

 Then how about the ability to change it via plugin?  I see that
 "conversation-hiding" is emitted prior to the timer being set, but I need
 to connect to something that occurs after the timer is set.  Should a
 signal be added that's emitted after the conversation is hidden?  Or is
 there an existing signal/even that I can use?
