 Over several days, I have repeatedly tried but unable to get official
 yahoo client to update the avatar. Hence I have been unable to test the
 case you mention.
 Whereas, Pidgin updates within a few seconds official client isn't doing
 anything, though it appears to be downloading the image from
 "http://67.195.134.213/msgr/*weird numbers*--/.friend_icon.png ", the link
 happens to be provided by the server.

 I am posting to let you know that I am onto this ticket, it might take a
 while since the official client isn't behaving properly at my end, and I
 don't know how to debug it :P
