 I want to chime in with support for what an excellent feature this is. It
 saves me an enormous amount of tedious scrolling and buddy finding. Ninety
 percent of my buddies are often "mobile" and not truly "online." Also on a
 netbook with limited screen resolution, controlling what information is
 visible and what is hidden is a critical usability feature. If that's not
 simplicity then I don't know what is.
