 I believe it would be possible to write a plugin which listens for the
 uri-handler signal and to have it respond to a uri of u3:quit by quitting
 pidgin (or more generically purple: or pidgin:quit). Though one would need
 to be careful with such a uri handler as accidentally quitting pidgin is
 possible. Additionally, should DBus ever make its way to Windows using
 something like the purple-remote script should work.
 That being said I don't see why we would not accept a patch that added a
 custom message type on Windows to tell pidgin to quit.
