 Same problem here on Fedora 11 with pidgin 2.5.8.

 The trick above of substituting 64.4.13.190 did not impact on the problem
 for me.

 Cannot connect to either of my MSN accounts.  All other accounts are fine,
 and MSN was fin as well until just a few days ago.  No system changes that
 I am aware of other than routine updates pushed via yum.
