Comment:

 I think it unlikely that we will officially add support for all those uri
 schemes. However, when running under GNOME we should automatically support
 any and all schemes that are registered with GNOME (I'm not sure we do
 that for KDE, if not a patch would be welcome). Furthermore, adding
 support for additional schemes is now doable via plugins (which can
 register any scheme they want and do arbitrary things when their URIs are
 activated).

 Given the above, I'm going to mark this as "fixed" for 2.6.0.
