 As a specific response to AaronCompNetSys Buddies->Sort->By Status exists
 for that sort of thing, clustering the "available" buddies at the top of
 each group. Granted, that doesn't help with shortening the overall buddy
 list but it does help with locating the active buddies in any given group.
