 Sorry if I've just created a duplicate ticket, but I simply don't know how
 to search for my bug/feature :D

 I'm from Switzerland and I'm using a German keyboard.
 You guys all know the lovely emoticon

 which I like very much. Usually I have to press the key 2 times to get
 that smilie.
 This works in every application apart from pidgin where I have to press
 the key 4 times. This is quite annoying and I just wanted to let you know
 and maybe there's a solution. Who knows ;-)
