 >  Connection errors already do set the URGENT hint.

 They still don't flash the taskbar (which the new mail notification does).
 It has happened to me several times that I've been logged out for half an
 hour before I happen to switch to the workspace that the buddy list is on
 and notice that something is amiss; since the connection error is not
 flashing the taskbar when it should be, this should be marked as a bug
 report instead of an enhancement?
