 Expanding and Collapsing all groups can be a plugin - but why doesn't
 searching automatically search through collapsed groups?

 I have close to 50 groups in my pidgin client. For me to chat with a user
 I have to:
 * Remember which group that user is in
 * Hunt for the group through all my groups
 * Expand the group
 * Search for the user

 This is not a very pleasant user experience. In fact, it made me give up
 pidgin in favor of Sametime.

 Note, that Sametime searching does search through collapsed groups.
