 I never questioned what the use of *away messages* was, I questioned the
 use of the aim:goway URI. Under what circumstances are you really going to
 neeed/want to click a link to set yourself away with a specific message?
 Searching on Google for aim:goaway finds a large percentage of the links
 being about security vulnerabilities in the official client and very
 little about actual uses of the uri.

 If someone wanted to submit a patch which added back support for this uri
 (and the official client supports it currently) it would likely be
 accepted.
