 Yes, I read the FAQ and I get the same error message
   dnssrv: found 0 SRV entries

 I'm sorry but the solution in the specified faq is not clear (at least not
 to me)
 and I'm able to connect to google talk on the same machine when running
 Windows XP and the same
 pidgin client version.

 My linux partition doesn't run any local DNS.
