 To fix it you need to do the following :

 edit the account you can use googlemail.com instead of gmail.com, click
 advanced, and connect server is : talk.google.com

 and try now go offline and go online again, make sure you disable all
 other accounts and enable one account which is google talk that you try to
 connect, now open debug window from  Help > debug window

 see what happen..

 1 - If you get message about certification that you need to accept and
 then click accept now your connected and everything fine.

 2 - Still got problem - copy what's on debug window and save it as text
 and attach it here.

 Tip : If you have firewall try to disable it might be the firewall
 problem.
