 Both gmail.com and googlemail.com should work for users of both domains.

 A connect server should not be needed unless something is broken with the
 network (SRV lookups fail, see the FAQ).

 The certificate issues only show up when the connect server is manually
 specified.

 Output from the Help->Debug Window is what is needed, as I indicated
 originally.
