Comment:

 The instructions to get a .RPT backtrace states that for windows you
 download the debugging version - pidgin-2.5.8-0.src.rpm. I have 2.5.2
 pidgin installed at work. Im not sure what to do with an .rpm. I am on a
 windows XP system. Furthermore I am connecting through a VPN via EPIC.
 Possibly my problem can be resolved by bypassing the VPN and going into
 HomeOffice and connecting directly to the network. Do you think that has
 any hope? Does Pidgin interact with exchange server in any way or talk to
 DNS when starting up?  I had a hicup on exchange server before my Pidgin
 crashed. I am planning to make the trip tommorow.
 One error I get in my app event log is this, but I have had this error
 before when pidgin was working. But is there a connection to pidgin
 error??:

 Automatic certificate enrollment for Domain\username(This is me, but I
 modified generically for security purposes) failed to contact the active
 directory (0x8007054b).  The specified domain either does not exist or
 could not be contacted.
   Enrollment will not be performed.
