 It's more likely this is a server-side change that is affecting some
 accounts but not others.

 My AIM account is from 2001. I've made a new AIM account to test but had
 the same results. My ICQ account is even older, but it fails with new ICQ
 accounts as well. Might not be significant but that's the client side
 testing I've done.

 Is it possible to get Pidgin to dump out more detailed output of the error
 it's receiving from the AIM/ICQ servers when it sends the block request?
