 When starting pidgin, the program crashed when the initial configuration
 gui (create accounts) appears.
 Same behaviour for ubuntu package and custom build program.

 Strace tells pidgin runs a "read(16, ""..., 1024)" in infinite loop. I'm
 appending a gdb's full backtrace and the strace output.
