Comment:

 Further discussion in d at cpi (and I actually read through #3650) indicate
 there's almost certainly no way to fix this, as we trust the server-side
 list to be authoritative.

 This functionality illustrates a fundamental brokenness on the server;
 anyone who wants this fixed needs to get AOL to fix the servers, get Qip
 to remove this stupid functionality, or stop using ICQ.
