Comment:

 The closest thing to real anti-virus software I have is Spybot, but I've
 had it running since before I started using Pidgin (I installed Pidgin and
 ran it with no problems for weeks before this happened). The only firewall
 I use is Windows Firewall, but I've set it to allow the application
 Pidgin. The network is administrated by a roommate, who swears he hasn't
 changed anything lately.

 I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times, but each
 time I reinstall it, it still has all my saved profiles. I'd like to try
 just wiping it and starting fresh, but I can't find where that information
 is stored.
