Comment:

 What do you mean "easily copy various chat histories with one user"? Do
 you mean 'select all text in conversation, copy, paste into new chat
 window'? Do you mean 'select all text from all conversations, copy, paste
 into new chat window'? Something else?

 If the default new-conversation-on-window-close logging policy is causing
 you difficulties then perhaps you should look into turning off the "Close
 IMs immediately..." which will keep windows 'alive' for 10 minutes after
 you close them to allow for resumption (designed to catch just-a-second-
 too-late 'Bye's) or into a logging plugin which better suits your usage
 (pp:wiki:oldlogger is an example of one such plugin).
