Comment:

 Are your accounts, preferences, and saved statuses being lost? Only
 accounts? Only preferences? Only saved statuses? More than one category
 but not all three?

 Do they get lost if you simply quit pidgin and restart it (without
 restarting the computer)?

 If you run 'pidgin -d' the time they are lost does it say anything about
 having a problem reading the files in question?

 Are you having any other hard drive problems?
