 Just adding another data point- I've encountered the exact behaviour using
 pidgin 2.5.5 on ubuntu and adium 1.4b6 on mac. I don't use the yahoo site
 or any other yahoo product that requires authentication. Logging into the
 yahoo site is the only way to enable the account.
