Comment(by jhallen):
Let me clarify this request: it is really several requests (I should have
filed several tickets):
1. Add support for images using sametime server. Sametime clients can
send images through sametime server, why not pidgin?
2. Allow pasting of images from the clipboard with Ctrl-V.
3. Support Windows OLE (or whatever they call it these days), so that even
if the object in the clipboard is not a simple bitmap image, it gets
converted to one for pasting.
For example, I can select a Microsoft Visio vector drawing and then paste
it into Sametime with Ctrl-V. Sametime doesn't know anything about Visio,
instead it asks (using OLE) for the object to be converted to a bitmap
image and pastes that instead.
4. Support displaying lotus notes database links as links. For example, I
can type: http://www.google.com into pidgin, and pidgin knows its a link,
highlights it in blue and allows me to click on it. The same thing should
happen if I type something like Notes://1234/5678/
5. Support pasting of lotus notes database links into pidgin with Ctrl-V.
So if I select "copy database as link" from within Lotus Notes, I should
be able to paste it into pidgin (instead I get the markup stuff you see in
my original note above).
Basically I want to use pidgin in place of lotus sametime without losing
any of the sametime features I normally use. Why? Pidgin has other
protocols, is more stable, uses less memory/CPU, etc.
Thanks.
