 htumblin: Make sure you're using libpurple 2.5.7.

 If you compiled from scratch, either uninstall your system's libpurple
 package or try running `sudo ldconfig`.

 This specific situation apparently occurs (kudos to rekkanoryo) when
 trying to connect to the Yahoo16 authentication host while using an older
 authentication method (i.e. older libpurple).
