Comment:

 As I said, temporary connection failures (like when your network is down)
 are *not* fatal and do *not* disable accounts. Closing the dialog has no
 effect on what behaviour pidgin takes with the account. If the account was
 disabled pidgin will do nothing regardless of whehter you close the dialog
 or not, similarly if the account was not disabled then pidgin will
 reconnect regardless of whether you dismiss the dialog or not.

 As I also indicated if you dislike the fact that the skype plugin/pidgin
 considers skype not being running as a fatal error then you need to talk
 to the akype plugin author.

 If you'd like to test my assertions about non-fatal errors, try pulling
 your ethernet cable and attempting to get pidgin to connect, when it fails
 notice that the dialogs do not indicate that the accounts are disabled (as
 they will remain enabled), then dimiss the dialogs, plug your cable back
 in and watch for pidgin to reconnect on its own.
