Comment:

 The location of the .purple folder can be changed via the PURPLEHOME
 environment variable as outlined in the FAQ [/wiki/Using
 Pidgin#Whereismy.purpledirectory here].  It can also be redefined with a
 script calling 'pidgin -c "<path to new location>"' (the quotes will be
 necessary if the path contains a space).  You will need to move the data
 manually once this is done.
