 What is actually being transferred when this happens?

 - I'm not exactly sure what is being transferred, all I can see is from
 task manager, pidgin (not responsive), IE, firefox, chrome no longer can
 access the internet (I am still connected to my router), but I cannot even
 access my router's 192.168. strange, everything does not work until I
 restart, but I can run any other programs, just no internet.

 What does the debug log say?

 - because I cannot completely shut down pidgin, I do not get a debug, at
 least I'm not sure how to access it, there is no error messages showing,
 just suddenly pidgin hangs and there's nothing I can do to stop, restart
 even the os.

 Which plugins are you using?

 - sorry I should have stated these, but note that I've been using these
 plugins for years and haven't had any problems until recently. Buddy State
 Notification 2.5.4, History 2.5.4, Psychic Mode 2.5.4, Release
 Notification 2.5.4, Text replacement 2.5.4

 Which protocols are you using?

 - I believe those are set default, gtalk, aim, yahoo, msn, facebook.
