Comment:

 The point deryni was making is that even if you have no accounts enabled,
 Pidgin's status is still set to available.  If you want to sign off all
 your accounts, select the offline status.  The specific case you point out
 of losing your connection is different in that accounts are enabled when
 this happens.

 The point here is that the status selector and tray icon represent status.
 An account being disabled is not a status.
