Comment:

 Check this behavior again when we release 2.6.0.  The Summer of Code
 project from 2008 for Yahoo protocol support improvements has been merged
 and will be released then.  Among the changes are a ton of file transfer
 related additions.

 I'm marking this ticket as pending, and it will close in 14 days if
 there's no response.  That's perfectly fine; if the issue still exists in
 2.6.0, you can comment here and we'll reopen the ticket.
