 not sure which logging i am using it is the one i installed with
 archlinux.

 How do I do a backtrace with symbols?  Is it
 http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/GetABacktrace under the "The Hard Way
 (a.k.a. Making Use of Core Files) ¶" ?
