 What logging type do you have selected in the pidgin preferences?

 No, you need to determine if arch linux has a way to let you install the
 debugging symbols for the pidgin package you have installed (or to not
 strip them during the build process if you built pidgin yourself). The
 Fedora, Redhat, and Gentoo lines at the top of the GetABacktrace page are
 examples of how those distributions handle doing this.
