Comment:

 The value is in fact saved in the preferences file, as it works for a
 number of people, myself included. It is the /purple/savedstatus/startup
 value (why it is stored as an integer creation time I have no idea). What
 value does that preference hold for both of you? Does that value have a
 matching saved status in the status.xml file?
