#8835: Segfault at startup

I am completely unfamiliar with Pidgin's inner workings, but I just
stumbled upon a very annoying bug which kills the application at startup,
just as some accounts are getting enabled. As this happens both with
Pidgin and Finch, I guess this is due to libpurple - But I cannot say on
which protocol it stumbles (although it _seems_ to get the contacts list
at least for IRC, SILC and ICQ - But I don't know in which phase of the
negotiation does it break). FWIW, I currently have registered accounts on
ICQ, MSN, Jabber, IRC (two active accounts), SILC and Yahoo - Yes, not too
 helpful :)
I am using the current Debian Unstable version, official packages
 (2.5.5-1).
Anyway, I'm attaching the backtraces for both finch and pidgin. As Debian
provided binaries are compiled with stripped symbols, I am also attaching
the corresponding straces, hoping they are more useful.
