#9258: Stop AIM from overwriting buddy icons

I use pidgin on Ubuntu 9.04 and use pictures of my contacts as their user-
specified buddy icons. However, because of the notify-osd daemon in
Jaunty, I try to overwrite their icons in ~/.purple/icons with those
pictures. For the most part, it works but if they change their icon it
gets overwritten. I tried making the ~/.purple/icons folder unwritable,
but it seems that pidgin would then just write to some other hidden
folder. Is there a way I can lock the buddy icons that I see?
