 Hi

notify-osd (/usr/lib/notify-osd/notify-osd) is very annoying to me because
it shows every message I receive so I decided to make the file not
 executable (chmod -x).
That works as expected but now every time I start pidgin and click on the
"X" to minimize pidgin to tray it instead closes completely like ctrl+q.
I would prefer if it also minimized to tray even notify-osd isn't running
 or executable.

 Current workaround:
 chmod +x notify-osd (as root)
 start pidgin
 chmod -x notify-osd (as root)
 kill notify-osd process

 Ubuntu 9.10
 Pidgin 2.6.3 (from http://ppa.launchpad.net/pidgin-developers/ppa/ubuntu
 via Synaptics)
