Comment:

 Is this on Windows? What version of GTK+ are you using (check near the
 bottom of the Help->About dialog)? Can you try upgrading and seeing if it
 gets better? Some changes were made "recently" to improve the situation
 for some cases (I don't remember for which version offhand nor if this
 case was one of them).
