 No, pidgin is not functioning properly because if it is minimised it does
 not inform you that it has been disconnected underneath. This is just
 basic functionality, and Pidgin gets a big fail I'm afraid. Anyhow, I've
 got my MSN client connected now so I have ditched Pidgin.
