 Hmm, do you get connected with that error if you don't join any of the
 chats?

 This may also be a known bug in ejabberd ([https://support.process-
 one.net/browse/EJAB-939 EJAB-939]), in short, the pubsub database tables
 on the server are corrupted.  This can be confirmed by examining the
 server logs and comparing them to the server log.

 What version of Pidgin were you using before you upgraded to 2.6.2?
