 Blah, not sure how I missed these, being so recent and all, but my issue
 may be related to the following bugs: #10499, #10411, #10489. Sorry for
 potential duplication!

 I've been trying to kind of work around this by signing in as invisible,
 and then twiddling the privacy settings before going available, but it
 insists upon signing me in as available even though it's set to always
 sign in as invisible *sigh* (potentially a different issue?)
