#10574: Pidgin stops responding after a random period of time - 64bit Vista

     Type: defect | Status: new

 Keywords: stop responding freeze |
------------------------------------+---------------------------------------
After 1-2 hours Pidgin just stops responding. Either actively messaging,
or just sitting there idle. All open and minimized Pidgin windows freeze.

There is no pidgin.rpt file created, or any *.rpt file!
 (searched the entire hard drive)[[BR]]
I had the debug window open for weeks watching it, it also just stops
logging when Pidgin freezes and be can not be saved (or screen captured
for that matter), but does not show anything but normal entries up to the
point it freezes. Upon restarting pidgin with the debug log string, it
only shows a normal start up as if nothing had happened.

This has been happening with at least versions 2.5.7 through 2.6.3, on
updated 64bit Vista home premium, Outpost Firewall, Avera anti-virus.
Other apps randomly open: FireFox, Adobe Director, Adobe Flash,
TeamViewer, Eudora7, but these don't seem to really make any difference.
Pidgin will also freeze from a fresh start and nothing else running. If
the close X is available on a window, Vista can close it and generates
it's 'WER' crash dump, if not, the Task Manager must be used to end the
task. At the time of the freeze nothing specifically seems to cause it.
There is also no noticeable loss of ram during the 1-2 hours before it
freezes (like a memory leak would show)

Was connected to AIM, ICQ, and MSN only.

Back in 2 other closed but unresolved Bug Tickets with the same problem,
they mentioned the delay before freeze was longer the first time, that is
not necessarily true in my case.

What else can I do to generate any useful crash info?
