 After seeing other reports of memory leakage I took a closer look at that
 as well.

 every debug entry like this:
 (18:27:38) msn: C: NS 000: PNG
 (18:27:38) msn: S: NS 000: QNG 48
 adds about 80k to pidgin's memory use in the task manager. (with the debug
 window open or not), but it never runs long enough for me to get up to the
 levels others reported in their tickets.
