Comment:

 My only concern here would be that you might have messages which have
 scrolled off the top of the visible area, though I agree the chances of
 that happening are incredibly less likely than the chances of hitting the
 wrong close button and missing messages in other conversation windows.

 I could see removing the warning for people who have tabbed conversations
 turned off entirely (as this means that they will almost certainly never
 see the warning when it protects them from anything), but I'm not sure I
 think we should do it for the tab-user case.
